This is how cherimoya looks like in the inside.

The best part about being plant based is that i discovered there are over 20,000 edible plants! I don’t have to eat the same thing everyday.

Not only did i gain knowledge but my taste buds were opening up to different flavors!

But most flavors reminded of my childhood, especially with this fruit group: cherimoyas, soursop

DID YOU KNOW THE SYNTHETIC BUBBLE GUM FLAVOUR COMES FROM THIS FRUIT? YES, SHE’S THE OG!

Mother Earth is amazing not only she’s the blueprint but she gives us flavor and medicine packed in fruits!

Here’s  why you should add cherimoya into your diet:

Cherimoya, often called the “custard apple,” is a tropical fruit celebrated for its creamy texture and unique flavor, which many liken to a mix of bubble gum, banana, and pineapple. Beyond its delicious taste, cherimoya is packed with nutrients and potential health benefits, including anti-cancer properties.

Nutritional Profile

Cherimoya is rich in:

• Vitamins: Vitamin C, B6, and folate.

• Minerals: Potassium, magnesium, and phosphorus.

• Fiber: Aids in digestion and gut health.

• Antioxidants: Such as flavonoids, carotenoids, and polyphenols.

Benefits

1. Anti-Cancer Properties:

Cherimoya contains powerful antioxidants like acetogenins, which have been studied for their potential to:

• Prevent the growth of cancer cells.

• Induce apoptosis (programmed cell death) in cancerous cells.

• Protect DNA from oxidative damage, reducing cancer risk.

2. Bubble Gum Flavor and Digestive Health:

Its natural sweet taste comes from its unique blend of sugars and aromatic compounds, making it enjoyable while providing dietary fiber that:

• Prevents constipation.

• Supports healthy gut bacteria.

3. Immune Boost:

High levels of vitamin C strengthen the immune system and combat inflammation.

4. Heart Health:

Potassium helps regulate blood pressure, and magnesium supports heart rhythm and muscle function.

5. Mood Enhancement:

Vitamin B6 in cherimoya aids in the production of serotonin and dopamine, which help regulate mood and reduce depression symptoms.

6. Eye Health:

Contains lutein, a carotenoid that protects against eye diseases like macular degeneration.

How to Enjoy Cherimoya

• Eat it fresh by scooping the flesh with a spoon your hands.

• Blend it into smoothies, desserts, or salad dressings.

• Freeze and enjoy as a natural ice cream substitute.

Note: Cherimoya seeds and skin are toxic when consumed, so avoid eating them.
